Why is the Muse Mattress Made in the USA?

The team behind Muse Sleep is passionate about creating a high-quality mattress made in the USA. We proudly design our gel memory foam mattress at our headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina and produce them in our manufacturing facility in Indiana.

By designing and manufacturing our beds right here at home, we’re supporting job creation in America and giving you peace of mind. You can rest easy knowing that your mattress is crafted with care using only the finest foams and materials.

Constructing the Muse Mattress

Every Muse firmness option is constructed using CertiPUR-US® Certified Foam to create a safe sleep environment for you and your family. All certified foams are free of harmful ozone depleters, formaldehyde, PBDE, TDCPP, or TCEP flame retardants, mercury, lead, and heavy metals or phthalates.

The layers in the Muse mattress are created using high-density memory foam to provide ample support that lasts and lasts.

The top layer of the Muse mattress is our Temperature-Regulating Gel Foam, constructed from 2” of 4 lbs. density gel-infused memory foam. The middle layer, our Responsive Comfort Foam, is 2” of 3 lbs. density foam that differs in indentation deflection value (ILD) depending on what mattress firmness you select. Finally, our Supportive Foundation is 8” of 2 lbs. density core support flex foam.

We believe in the strength and durability of our American-made mattresses. That’s why we back each one with a 10-year warranty and a 120-night sleep trial.

The quality of our craftsmanship is clear to our customers and to mattress experts like Sleep Sherpa, Sleep Advisor, and Sleepare. That’s why our bed has over a four-and-a-half star rating on Amazon as well as our website and is consistently ranked highly among critics.

Comparing Muse to Other Bed-in-a-Box Mattresses

It’s no secret that bed-in-a-box mattresses have exploded over the last five years and while they may look similar, they’re not. The majority of memory foam mattresses stand eight to 10 inches high. Muse stands tall at 12 inches high, giving you more mattress for your money.

In addition to forming a more durable product, the extra two inches creates the look of a luxurious mattress. A 12” memory foam mattress like Muse sits at the perfect height on a platform bed, while other options may fall short when not positioned on top of a box spring.

Beyond a difference in height, there are some mattress companies that are cutting corners by producing their beds in China. Mattresses made in China take jobs away from the American manufacturing industry. And, in many cases as the customer, you’re getting a lesser quality product made from sub-par materials.

Generally, mattresses made in China use lower-density foams because those foams are less expensive. Low-density foams begin to show wear more quickly than high-density foams. They can even sag in the middle, causing you to toss and turn, roll into your partner, as well as wake up with aches and pains.

While a mattress manufactured in China may be less expensive to purchase initially, in the long run, it can cost you more money. In most cases, you’ll have to replace your mattress in a few short years. Whereas if you purchase a high-quality, American-made mattress, your bed is guaranteed to last eight to ten years.

Supporting the Community

At its headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, Muse Sleep partners with local charities across the nation to give back to those less fortunate. For every ten mattresses sold, Muse gives one to a charity in need. By purchasing a Muse mattress, you’re not only supporting our country’s economy, but also your fellow Americans. And that’s a win-win in our book.
